The clock tower is connected to the Kingham Science Hall and Shumway Hall. Many of these structures are part of the Shattuck Historic District which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Shattuck-St. Mary's is a prestigious boarding/prep school in Faribault, Minnesota. The school, established in 1858, has an annual enrollment of about 400 students. Students from 39 different states and 17 countries have attended the school, and pay as much as $41,000 per year to attend. It is known across the country for excellence in arts and sports, primarily hockey. Pittsburgh Penguins star, Sidney Crosby attended here along with several other noteable NHL players. Marlon Brando was also a Shattuck student, as was Hubert H. Humphrey III and Brent Musburger.
